Sharlene Evans, TRS, CTRS
Hi, I’m Sharlene! I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah and am a Licensed Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS) in the state of Utah. Over the years, I’ve worked in both medical and community settings, including Orchard Cove Rehabilitation, LDS Hospital, and South Davis Community Hospital, designing and leading therapeutic programs that support people of all ages and abilities in building resilience, confidence, and connection. These days, I primarily work with women, parents, and elementary-aged children. I find my experience with recreation therapy blends well with principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), helping clients build psychological flexibility through curiosity, playfulness, moving, reflecting, and experiencing. At the heart of my work with Congruence Therapy is a deep belief that YOU are the expert on your own life. You already carry insight, strength, and wisdom within you. I believe my role isn’t to “fix” you — it’s to walk alongside you, create meaningful experiences that guide you toward your own self-discovery. I feel that some of the most powerful insights happen outside — on a trail, under open sky, or in the middle of a challenge that stretches you just enough. Nature has a way of clearing the noise and helping us reconnect with who we are and what matters most. I love helping clients use those moments intentionally. When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me trail running, hiking, climbing mountains, exploring canyons, or simply “surfing the chaos” of life. I bring both professional expertise and lived experience into my work — and I aim to create a space that feels safe, collaborative, grounded, and refreshingly human.
