What types of therapy do you offer?

I provide individual, family, and group therapy, specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem, and family conflict.

What therapeutic approaches do you use?

I incorporate behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), experiential therapy, and trauma-focused therapy to best meet your needs.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy can be helpful if you're experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, or major life changes, or if you simply want to improve your emotional well-being. A consultation can help determine if it’s the right fit for you.

How long do sessions last?

Sessions will typically last at least 50-60 minutes Spencer does not like to stop sessions early or cut sessions short.

What can I expect during group therapy sessions?
  • There’s not a lot of places in today’s society where you can go to gain other people’s insight into how they honestly view you. Group therapy, when approached in an honest and vulnerable manner, helps clients progress at an accelerated rate. Spencer works to create a safe and honest environment where healing is inevitable.
  • Depending on group needs, groups run from between 60-90 minutes. Whatever the group focus is plays a part in the direction the group goes. Groups are not psychoeducational in nature, but in process. This allows groups to go to spaces that clients need at that moment.
  • Spencer has extensive training in group therapy. This has been a main focus throughout his career. As a client in the group, you are not put on the spot or made to be uncomfortable but are encouraged to use the strength of the group to discuss topics that in the past may have been difficult to approach, yet are the source for healing. Email with any further questions.
What should I expect during my therapy sessions?

It is highly individualized, but ultimately you and your therapist identify issues and obstacles that, with the experiential process, you work through and overcome. The therapist will accommodate your approach that works best for you. Spencer’s aim is to create a teamwork approach in session.

How long will I need to be seen?

Clients are involved in all treatment planning. Each person’s case is individual and ultimately the client decides how long to be seen.
